The Omega Speedmaster Professional ST 145012 First Moon watch ? If you already took a look at our pages concerning 2998, 105003 and 105012 series, you do know that this Speedmaster could have been the first watch worn on the Moon. Anyway, this is the last Speedmaster powered by the famous Omega caliber 321. The picture shows the serial number 26'544'844 produced around 1967. Considering that this time piece was acquired through the web, we can consider it a good deal. Everything seems to be true original, especially the dial, the crown and pushers. And last but not least, the bracelet is the highly appreciated 1039. Few hands seem to have been less than perfectly refreshed, but it is still minor caveat considering it is easy to do it yourself. This page is a good reason to keep you aware when you buy over Internet. Always ask for movement serial number, known origin, ask for more pictures if you have any doubt, and so on. If you buy from a professional web site, you should have some warranty policy, like 7 or 10 days money back warranty or so. Generally, always favor an "as is", well described piece, than a more expensive, rejuvenated and prettier, but not refreshed by an authorized Omega dealer. Personally we do not like bid offers. Try to buy without stress and at any price. It's hard we know. And we not always do what we suggest ! There are many amateur web sites devoted to the Speedmaster, as you will see in our links page. Those passionate are also collectors, so they could be of some help if you would decide to buy a "Speed". Always remember that collecting Speedmasters is much less easy than you could believe at first, especially if you want a nice original and valuable collection. Not pictured on this site are the following models with the 861 cam caliber, such as the 145022 produced from 1968, the 1450022 from 1970 and all next series, until the most Recent Broad Arrow. Just bear in mind that the Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow is powered by a new columns wheel movement, from the base of Frederic Piguet own design, and specially developed for Omega. If you want a good advice, this new model is a great value for money , and benefits of its good availability, compared to the Steel Rolex Daytona – also a beautiful time of piece, in term of mechanics and finish.
